a song about sydney
a song about Kings Cross and people magazine
a song about sex-sell overload
a song about self destruction
This song was written by me - Ash Wanders - back when i was known to bandmates as 'Bentos'
This was the demo that was made to give to respective bands Methrapunge and Cornbeef Curtains..
It got some laughs, but may have been seen by them as my mad-cap solo stuff.. so room wasn't made for it in the live sets
even thou we often had fun playing it at rehearsal. and so it made its way onto this record and was performed in Euphemide Child.
written in 1992 and recorded in 1995.
lyrics
This city lives on caffiene and alcohol
nicotine, cholesterol
we make our minds polluted
we make our bodies graves
theres just no one to answer to
a self destructive game
Sex on news stands
sex on soup tins
sex on my TV
No thanks Mr Tycoon
you can keep your sex-goddess
i wont programme for Betty
in torn second hand rose dress
i've got enough sublime sex in my brain to last me
thanks to you, you undeserving money-hungry lying cranks
what you expose what you condone is making us all sick
making us all sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick
sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick
sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick
sick sick sick sick sick sick sick sick
making us all sick !
