The chorus of this song was written from the point of view of the boyfriend of the girl i was doing at the time, however the verses are written in the first person about the same girl. we had met at uni and had mysteriously picked all the same 6 subjects and so.were destined to be in every class together, every week day for at least a year, so we sat next to each other.
I had feelings and was attracted to her, but figured that by the law of averages i would only have to bide my time and something would happen.. i just had no idea it would happen when it did.
About 9 months on i got a call telling me my mother had just died.
i hadn't put the phone down for longer than about a half an hour, when Kerryn rang up and said "i'm coming around with a six pack of beer" and at that point in our development, i knew exactly what that meant ;-)
lyrics
i met you in that classroom
you were all black hair and bright eyes
now were stuck together like glue
and i still have time to spread my wings and fly
i'm not gonna possess you
i''ve began a new cycle
and thou i feel i can trust you
sometimes you find it hard to look me in the eye
I wanna know what you've been doing after work
and i wanna know what you plan on doing about that crazy Jerk
whose living on you're bedroom floor are you gonna say
'No more?'
i never had no one like you
you came to me like gods angel
and i'll always want to know you
even after you have to spread your wings and fly
I wanna know what you've been doing after work
and i wanna know what you
plan on doing
about that crazy Jerk
whose living on your bedroom floor are you gonna say
no more ?
